Some of the ways to identify when a student is bullying is to look for the following characteristics:

Student regularly engages in hurtful teasing, name calling or intimidation of others (especially those who are smaller and weaker.

Student thinks s/he is superior to others

Student encourages others to hurt smaller/weaker students

Student has little empathy

Student seems to desire power and control
